Sales Manager - North

About Client

It is a young software SAAS company is seeking an experienced and locally aware Sales Manager to actively sell its products and services in the north of England.  

The company needs to build up its hospitality software service offer and has re-organised the sales area and built a small Account Manager team from existing staff to make sure it enjoys post pandemic success.

It is expected that the person hired will be able to start remotely in June and then be “full-on” visiting clients once the vaccination situation is better know.

Your Work:

To contribute to the sales success of your team and to provide best in class support to clients.

Key activities include:

  • Knock on doors of existing clients and work to develop new ones. 

  • Maintain positive relationships with key accounts assigned by Sales Director and work together with your assigned Account Manager. 

  • Participate in marketing and management meetings.

  • Track metrics, opportunities and lost business, complete CRM activities and suggest ideas for new business opportunities or sales process improvement.

  • Take responsibility for large value orders and work together with internal finance, operations and others to deliver them from initial specification request and order through to delivery.

  • Develop and implement personal and area strategic sales plans tailoring it to the needs of the company and your sales area. 

  • Forecast forward revenue expectations, projected growth, pricing decisions, sales pipeline numbers and report on competitors and substitutes in the current market.

  • Attend relevant trade shows, events, marketing webinars and supplier educational workshops. 

Your Profile and Qualifications:

  • Experience selling in the north of England either directly to hotels or to their service providers.  

  • Over 5 years of experience in sales working in a quarterly / annual orientated sales target and bonus environment. This role does not suit those seeking maximum commissions from the shortest time selling, there is after-sales support work which is required as part of the “total sale.”

  • Business related or technical degree, minimum at Bachelor level.

  • Ability to work independently, to multi task, communicate freely and openly and to prioritise work load. 

  • An enthusiastic approach and ability to learn quickly and assume responsibility are essential with work at weekends or outside of normal hours if required (some sales happen on a Saturday in hotels).

Salary – Increased base salary by £1,000 to adjust from a high commission % earnings and low base to group salary package.
