Technical Engineer IT - London
Work from home base, visit client sites and the office as/when required.
Privately owned technology in the hotel and hospitality space is seeking to add to their team.
Position Responsibilities:
You will work as Tier 1 or/and Tier 2 support on-site and be the primary point of contact on some work activities.
According to your level of experience, you will work on configurations, mapping, design and in some cases project management.
To take ownership and to be accountable for your actions, mistakes are regarded by the client who is hiring as “learning opportunities” and as a Technical Engineer you will have a responsible attitude already.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
IT qualifications or certifications relating to Microsoft, or Cisco or similar. A computer science or similar degree is beneficial.
3+ years of experience in the design/development of integrated circuits. The client does hire for roles not advertised on this website, it may be worth having a separate conversation.
UK work permit already approved and a UK driving licence for a company car if you decide to work on-call/out of hours.
Clear, concise communication skills especially when writing in English. You must be able to write service desk notes in a style which is easy to understand and which will help others know the status of the work/project without reference to you.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience of both voice and data networks (installation or support).
Possess a good understanding of Aruba, Cisco, Ruckus and voice systems cloud or on-site (maybe Mitel/Avaya trained experienced and moved into data/IT networks).
Installation and maintenance of various mixed networks, including servers, Wi-Fi, switches, routers, load balancers, WAN Appliances and more.
Have a knowledge of AWS, Cloud Computing, VoIP, Wi-Fi, Azure Virtual Network Services Management and similar topics.
Have experience in the architectural layout of networks, router configurations, company firewalls and rule sets.
