Track Record

The examples below illustrate the different business circumstances behind assignments, the challenges involved in finding the right people, and, where known, the longer-term outcomes.

They include individual appointments, team builds and searches spanning multiple countries.

Selected Search Experience

My search experience includes senior appointments and specialist roles across industrial manufacturing, engineering, procurement, supply chain and technology. The examples below focus on the business circumstances behind assignments, the positions involved and, where known, the longer-term outcomes.

Search Assignments & Outcomes

These examples are completed placements involving searches across multiple countries. Each assignment presented a different challenge, from establishing a new commercial function to implementing global systems or attracting specialist engineering talent across borders.

  • European market entry: Placed a Head of Sales & Marketing to establish a European commercial function for an international solar manufacturer.

  • Global supply chain transformation: Placed a Supply Chain Director for an off-highway manufacturer, with responsibility for implementing a new ERP system across plants and logistics/3PL locations worldwide.

  • Specialist engineering — Austria: Placed a carbon-fibre application engineer working with the Volkswagen Group, within an Austrian R&D team and with customer-facing responsibilities. The search required navigating salary differences between Austria and Germany to secure the appointment.

Team Builds & Organisational Development

New European business unit — Solar manufacturing and DACH market entry

Working directly with the newly appointed German CEO, I supported the establishment of a new country operation and its planned European office.

During the first 15 months, I recruited five appointments:

  • Office Manager to support the CEO and new operation.

  • Financial Controller to establish financial oversight.

  • Two Sales professionals to launch commercial activity.

  • Field Engineer to act as the technical point of reference for projects, customer requirements and site surveys.

Two further technical staff joined through employee referrals and personal networks, bringing the initial team to seven.

The assignment combined commercial launch, operational support and technical recruitment during the establishment of the business.

Tenure, Progression & Long-Term Relationships

Three professionals I placed within the purchasing organisation of a global machinery manufacturer with annual revenues exceeding US$8 billion remain with the business.

All three now hold Director-level or more senior positions, including one who has progressed to Vice-President.

Their continued tenure and career development demonstrate the longer-term value of these appointments, extending well beyond the initial search.

Repeat Client Relationships

Repeat client relationships — Technology and industrial manufacturing

Some client relationships have developed over many years, with assignments changing as businesses expand, restructure or enter new markets.

  • Technology services: An ongoing recruitment relationship spanning more than 12 years, with recurring assignments supporting the development of a specialist technology services business.

  • Industrial manufacturing: Multiple appointments across engineering, operations, technical and corporate functions for an international industrial group, supporting business expansion and organisational development across European markets.

These relationships reflect an approach built around understanding a client's business over time, rather than treating each appointment as an isolated transaction.

If you are considering a senior appointment, building a team or facing a difficult-to-fill position, I would welcome a conversation about the requirements and how I might help.
